ABOUT THE CAUSE and Mangoes to Share:
"MANGOES TO SHARE’S mission is to work with underprivileged communities to alleviate hunger and poverty and care for the Earth.
We focus on helping communities become self-sufficient and engage in SUSTAINABLE agriculture and commerce.
We believe in being part of the SOLUTION"
One Year Ago
Mangoes to Share united forces with the Lovatt Foundation .Org with the long term goal of raising funds for planting edible gardens in orphanages for Children of Borno and at residences for Internally Displaced People severely affected by the armed conflict and famine in Northern Nigeria.
So far, after organizng 2 events and fundraising through friends and family we were able to accomplish much more than we expected in such a short time (a long update is here: https://www.mangoestoshare.org/2017/03/17/and-the-6-months-later-update-accomplishments-and-future-plans/)
Lovatt Foundation is the umbrella for a group of small-scale Nigerian community projects based in Kano, Nigeria. They are focused on finding new opportunities to assist with problem-solving and capacity building of the local communities. So far they helped over 500 displaced people to re-start their lives (for as little as $135 per family for 6 months) and opened 6 homes for young orphans whose families were brutally killed in sectarian violence, which give shelter to over 120 young kids. They focus on sustainable food growing practices, traditional education, literacy, numeracy, integrated arts, and long term trauma recovery for their kids.
Our goal with this project is to:
Establish a continuous, durable and independent food supply that costs the people no more than their labour.
Teach orphaned kids agriculture and life-long skills to promote their future independence.
Help kids with trauma recovery through contact with nature.
Help IDPs to provide food for their families and start a new life.
Help vital re-forestation efforts in the area saving resources for future generations.

PLEASE JOIN US FOR THIS SUPER FUN EVENT AND MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE IN LIVES OF THESE KIDS :)

ALL your donations are tax-deductible and all THE COLLECTED FUNDS WILL GO TO THE PROJECT, Mangoes to Share is a 501(C)(3) organization.
